FP2003 Permissions

Hi all I have a website created in FP 2003 and hosted on the windows platform where FP ext. are installed. It seems I have a problem with permissions in that FP sets them globally and therefore prevents write access to a global.php file.

The www.mysite.co.uk/conf_global.php (InvisionBoard forum file) needs to be written to and configured from a browser my either myself the administrator or other moderators. This all works fine when FP permissions are set to administrator but when FP permissions are set to browser permission is not granted.

I may be wrong here but feel that permissions in FP NEED to be set to browser for security reasons. The situation at the moment is that nobody including myself can access my website www.ashley-wedding-cars.co.uk as the permissions are now messed up totally preventing event the administrator access.

First, how do I gain access to my site for the purpose of administration?

Second, how should the permission be set so to allow browser read/write access to the global.php file from the browser yet still maintain site security.
