I get "system exception : access violation" when publishing from ISP to my laptop. I noticed that some non-web folders (except the private ones) were copied but none of the subwebs were. I've tried disabling Anti-virus and spyware but that did not help. Tried file sharing and firewall settings too.

Did that. Reported good install. I also noticed that in the remote server view some folders and all the subwebs are not flagged for publishing and I do not have an option to flag them to publish or to do it manually. The publish log doesn't help much either. Is there somewhere that indicates what file this is choking on?
I wanted to repeat my comment since you are not getting your problem solved, and seemed to have ignored my suggestio in the first place. You should be looking at a manual registry change and reinstalling certain application in a special order.

I applied Office 2003 service pack 1 but still got the same error. I have a backup site on ISP #2 so I tried publishing from there to my laptop to see if I get the same error. I was able to publish from ISP #2 with no errors. This leads me believe that some sort of config/security/?? setting exists on ISP #1 that was causing the error not my laptop setup. Both ISPs are Linux/Apache with FP extensions.
I'm going to split the points on this. Thank you for your help.
