Inetpub & wwwroot

In trying to sort out my different web sites created with the database interface wizard, I have ignorantly deleted something which is required. I reloaded my original site into wwwroot, but the "site settings" is now greyed out. The database interface wizard will not allow me to use the existing site option.

I have deleted and reinstalled IIS and my original site runs OK. I would be grateful for asome assistance here, thanks

Are you running this locally on a server?  If on the server, have you type in file - open web, http://www.example.com

I am sorry I do not follow your commment. My site is on my local machine using IIS.

If I delete the Inetpub sub-directory entirely, and do the same with IIS. On reinstalling IIS, does the Inetpub sub-directory be created at the same time? If this is so, I can start at square one.

So you are running the site locally.  

Does the site come up locally?  If not, I would create the inetpub via IIS.  

It could be that FP is not recognizing your connection to the IIS.  Have you tried to open the site with FP maybe via IE?  Have you extended the web via the IIS control panel?  Have you set up the users?

Thanks for your assistance. I just went through the option again without changing anything and it all reappeared as if by magic.
