How did you publish the site?  Did you publish it using the publish function within FP or did you just more the site across using FTP?

Also, make sure the FP extensions have been loaded on the web server which is hosting the site.

Cheers

It is published using FrontPage.. We do not host this site in house... I do know that it is being hosted on a Linux server.. All pages work except for this Submit.. I am not a web developer and really dont know much about FP.. I dont know HTML either... Everything works great except for this one thing..

Here is the link to the page with the submit button that has the broken link..

Confirm with your service provider that they loaded the FP server extensions for your domain.  For the submit form to work this needs to be loaded.  Some service provider do not enable FP extensions.

I've had the same problem and was resolves when the extension were loaded.

Cheers

also ask them to recalculate the extensions

Did you publish to http://www.example.com and not use the FTP?  If you did publish with http, did the form work before or is this the first time?

It looks like the form might have been uploaded using FTP instead of http.

I am using FTP through Frontpage to upload to the site.. This is my first time dealing with this.. I am the whole IT Department so I am taking care of areas that I am not accustomed to... I have FrontPage setup in where you see the local on the left side and the live ftp on the right.. It is hosted through Web.com and let me tell everyone here, do not ever host anything through these people.. It has been a nightmare... I am moving our stuff to GoDaddy today...

You need to use the Publish function in FP

File -> Publish Web

Enter the necessary cretentials to upload your site.  You are using FP extensions on your form submit and these will not work if FB doesn't publish them to the domain using this function.

Cheers

So... When at the bottom right of FP there is a place that says "Publish all changed pages" and underthat i have "Local to remote" checked.. Is this the same thing as File-> Publish Web?

by: mekhet30Posted on 2008-11-25 at 05:19:06ID: 23034228

Yes - that sounds right.  If it is a new development then overwrite all the pages.

Use the HTTP:// url to publish your site.  This will not work though if your service provider did not enable FP Extension on the domain you are publishing to

Cheers

You might want to delete the form on your server - check the FPSE and then publish.  FTP can sometimes be brutal on FPSE especially with forms

Alright... So I got it over at godaddy now and the form is working now.. I think it was the frontpage extensions.. it is supposed to automatically pop up the brochure after you enter your info, but the form works now, its just now you have to click on the link that says "Your PDF brochure for Liberty Log Homes should open very soon, if not, just follow this link..." and it never opens so you have to click the link. so, the form is working, now just got to get it to open the pdf automatically..
