The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Page generated with FrontPage 2003: text visible in IE, invisible in FireFox 3

Asked by fibo in FrontPage-Expressions, Firefox Web Browser, Hypertext Markup Language (HTML)

Tags: frontpage, frontpage2003, firefox, text not displaying, html

Short version:
- Page at http://webmsi.free.fr/HEC-MSI-09013-GR4/location.htm displays normally within Internet Explorer, but with Firefox 3 the text does not display. It is there (you can select it), but not showing. [Note for future readers: when you will be looking at the page, if a solution has been found below, the page should have no the problem no more]
- The page was created with FrontPage 2003.
- Any hint at the source of the problem?

Long version:
- I am teaching in a business school. We have selected FrontPage 2003 as the most appropriate tool IN OUR PEDAGOGIC CONTEXT. As part of the course, students are required to use a mini-site to communicate results of some research.
- There are lots of funny things with FrontPage, that I usually keep the students away by helping them to unselect some bad extensions (frames, VML to name a few).
- However a group of students has fallen into an unknown (from me) issue, and so we have this display problem.
- I hope some FrontPage users will have the solution.
- Answering "drop FrontPage" does NOT qualify for the solution.

Comments on FrontPage:
- Don't tell me we should not use it. This is not a variable, but a context and therefore a constant. Do not loseour time arguing about this.
- Of course this tool is not a professional-grade tool, it is perfect for use by non-experts. We want these persons to be managers, not web experts fluent in DreamWeaver!
- Its ability to manage globally a site, the navigation, etc is great for achieving what we want: that they create a web site with a minimum fuss.
