I use vimeo and motionbox a great deal and their video quality is unbeatable. I would like to create a Adobe Director Projector that will act as a media player for various videos via embedding html code. Has anyone done this or know that it would work?

I'm pretty certain that embedding video into html and then embedding that html into Director won't work.
What file format are your videos?
Director can natively support DVD, Real Media, Quicktime, WMV.
If it's an mpeg file type I have used Tabuleiro's Mpeg Advance xtra succesfully for many years.

The final output is for the web and our viewers are used to Vimeo / Motionbox. The quality is incredible and does well at full screen. I can convert our videos into any format. (I already have Tabuleiro's Mgeg Advance). I guess the one thing I have tried is doing progressive download using our own servers. I've just been under the assumption I couldn't achieve the quality of vimeo / motionbox. I've experimented with a $50 / month streaming service but it hangs up way to much. I guess I'd have to pay $600 per month to get the quality and reliability of stream that I'd need.
The reason I'm wanting to do this with Director is I want a single player that plays divided clips in an interactive way which also may include just audio and pics during certain parts. Each week, I just change out the video content for our viewers.
It sounds like I cannot do it with an embedded video using html codes. Thanks for the reply Chris. Do you have any other ideas?

Sorry, I thought you were talking about a Director projector not a web based project.
I've just had a quick look at Vimeo and the quality is good as you say.
The video I saw was Flash video (.flv or .mpeg4), embedded into Flash (.swf), which is embedded into html.
This is definately what I would recommend, the browser plugin is far more widely used than Shockwave, the video quality can be very good, and they have Flash Media Server for progressive download from your server.
I'm sure you could create a single player in Flash that would handle all the interactivity you require, but you could always import your Flash files into a Director wrapper to handle the interactivity. I would strongly advise you attempt to keep everything in Flash though.

I found webextra from tabiouler and it is supposed to be afully operational web browser within the projector, but I don't need total browser functionality. If it is adaptable I could live with that. I just don't want to buy all of these extras and they not do the trick.
