how do i capture streaming video from a website, when i try to record the screen i get a black screen with just the audio OS "windows vista home premium" i also have install Snagit but get the same thing  thanks.

Try to record without Hardware accelartion see if that works:

Camtasia Recorder > Tools > Options > Capture > Performance > uncheck Disable Display Acceleration.

If that ain't working try to disable Hardware Acceleration in Display options of your Graphics card.

any other ideas on how capture streaming videos? please help!

Only things i could found is the hardware accelaration.

Hope this helps you out. You could also try if it's also black on an other PC if you have possibility doing that.
