Is this the ONLY way I am going to get my menu on the same layer as the rest of the page? I was really hoping to be able to use the Flash menu I've already created.
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI have created a drop down menu in Flash and would like to use it in my web page. The problem I am experiencing is with the space the Flash movie takes up on the page. This is the first time I have tried to overlap Flash into HTML and am not sure how to go about it. I have learned about transparent backgrounds and their limits in certain browsers and do not want to go this route. Does anyone know a way to incorporate a drop down menu without using layers???
I have been hunting everywhere for the answer to my question and am ready to give up and just recreate the whole thing over again in DHTML.
Please Help!!!

The main view of the menu is about 40 pixels high, it expands to about 400 pixels high. When I make the Flash movie large enough to show the expanded dropdowns it takes up too much space on my page - the rest of the page elements get bumped down 360 pixels below the menu and I end up with white space inbetween. I know I can place my menu on a different layer and make the background transparent but I am looking for another solution. The customers who use my site may not be using a browser version that supports transparencies.
or if you want to do within Flash, why dont you try this Method?
