Question

dreamweaver vs frontpage

Asked by: clekkas

Hi Everyone,

I am new to web development, and I am about to start a website that should do pretty simple things. There will be users to log on and modify data, and it should produce various reports. In the future the possibility of enhancing it with Flash is there as well. I was wondering if you can you can give me your 2 cents about what should I start with? FrontPage or Dreamweaver. I believe FrontPage is easier to learn but Dreamweaver in the longer run will be better to integrate with Flash and so on.

Thank you

As a choice Dreamweaver for definite, you'll pick it up in no time, both programs have bad things about them but DW is the better of the two.

You might as well think strategically and do what benefits you best in the long run; learn Dreamweaver. You can make data driven websites with DW and it has some built in support to create Flash.

Some other people have tried to answer your question too; these links might be interesting. They all talk about comparison between Dreamweaver and Frontpage:

To this kind of question there is no right or wrong answer. Thank you both for posting to my question, I like klykken's answer based on the resources he gave me to make a better decision. My first decision is to stop being lazy and learn HTML first, that is the way to trully develop.

Thank you very much
