I'm running Win XP and I do have the 7.1 updater applied.
I'll try reinstalling everything as soon as I get time. Thanks for your suggestions and I'll let you know how it goes.

Browse All TopicsI'm running Dreamweaver MX 2004 with the latest updater applied and the asset pannel is driving me crazy. I occasionally run into folders that will not collapse in the asset panel.
To give you an idea of what the window looks like when I open it (hopefully this will display properly)
-myFolder
|-- file1.cfm
|-- file2.cfm
|-- file3.cfm
-myOtherFolder
|-- file4.cfm
|-- file5.cfm
What's happening is when I click the "-" sign next to "myFolder" to collapse it, everything works fine. I get something like
+myFolder
-myOtherFolder
|--- file4.cfm
|--- file5.cfm
BUT... when I then click the "-" sign next to "myOtherFolder" to collapse it as well, both folders fully expand to show their contents, leaving me with this again
-myFolder
|--- file1.cfm
|--- file2.cfm
|--- file3.cfm
-myOtherFolder
|--- file4.cfm
|--- file5.cfm
I have no idea what's differenent about the folders that are doing this but I have identified about 8 of them located on different servers that are doing this.
any ideas?

Are you under Win2000? support/dr eamweaver/ releasenot es/ mx/dwmx 61_fixed.h tml

I found the DW releae notes say something about auto collapsing under Win2k, but it's for MX6.1 not 7:
"On Windows 2000, Dreamweaver MX changes the file selection or auto-collapse folders when a user switches between Dreamweaver and another application."
The link: http://www.macromedia.com/
I can only suggest you try reinstalling your DW, sometime it will behave weird and then get better after reinstalling.
I also have seen DW MX behave different with separate releases, for instance I first used the 30 trial which had a few bugs, when my company bought the full studio release the version that came with it didn't have those bugs... What version is yours, is it 7.1?
This are the release notes for the 7.1 updater, although I did not find anything there resembling your problem:

And finally this is the Macromedia bug repor page so you can tell them what's wrong, they say they read every mail and perhaps they can have an answer for you:

and the support area:

Hope this eases your quest,
Esopo.
