The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Tiling and auto-sizing in Dreamweaver/Photoshop

Asked by squirtle98 in Adobe Dreamweaver

I am working on a couple of webpages in Dreamweaver MX, and I know just enough about Dreamweaver to get myself in trouble...I built the pages as templates in photoshop, and plugged the image into Dreamweaver as a background.  Dreamweaver tiles the image over and over like a checkerboard, and I can't figure out how to size it so that whomever is opening the site won't see the page repeating itself on the bottom and the side. I thought that when you used the layout function and drug your layout box to cover the page, it wouldn't show the tiling...but that doesn't work. I the person's browser is bigger than my site, the tiling still shows.  A friend of mine that writes html sent me some code to plug in that was supposed to auto size the page to all browsers, but he told me to insert it after a line that said <SCRIPT TYPE="text javascript> (obviously that's not what it said exactly, but that is the best I can remember without having his email in front of me...) But when I go to the code view in Dreamweaver, there is nothing in the code that says anything about script or java, so I have no idea where to insert this code or even if it would work.  I am going to school to learn to code html, but I don't start that until next semester, and I need to get my site up by the end of the month.  Any suggestions would be great...My friend also told me to stop using Dreamweaver and start using cuteftp?
