Question

Javascript error occurs everytime I paste.

Hey, I'm having a problem with trying to paste anything in dreamweaver.  The error message I get is:

"While executing DWShortcuts_HTMLSource_Paste command in menus.xml, the following JavaScript error(s) occured:

TypeError: MM.event has no properties."


Can someone help me out?

Yeah I've tried restarting but this problem is reoccuring and I haven't installed an update.

Hi, Casba.

If you're running MX 6, and upgrage to 6.1 might help, per the following info:

Bugs fixed in Dreamweaver MX 6.1(http://www.macromedia.com/support/dreamweaver/releasenotes/mx/dwmx61_fixed.html):

     In some cases, pasting text into the Code inspector doesn't work properly. (74774)

     Dreamweaver incorrectly inserts the "dwcopytype" attribute when pasting between design and code view. (65713)

Hi,

I've had a similar problem with javascript whenever i cut and paste.

The solution that i got was to basically clear the configurations for dreamweaver.

C:\Documents and Settings\<Your account name>\Application Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver MX 2004\Configuration

To acertain if this is the case, you can simply test it by firstly moving the configuration folder to somewhere else. If it still doesnt work, simply put it back.

Now my dreamweaver works fine again without having to reinstall it.

I could have looked through what is the problematic file, but i guessed it was easier to simply replace the configuration folder completely. Nothing much in there if u are only using basic dreamweaver functions. Just that you have to recreate the site cache once for all the sites again(quite fast). The sites' settings should still be there.

Error message slightly different, but i'm sure the fix is the same.
