Using the <a onclick="'>

Hi folks,
   I amusing Dreamweaver 2004 - and although I am use to doing code snippets for javascript in ASP, I am having a horrible time in Dreamweaver. I have the following: <a onClick="javascript:MkMaple();"><u>read more</u></a>
  I just want see if it hits the function but it does not - doesn't like the way it is coded in the <a> tag.
All I want to do is pop-up a window with size parameters, height ect.
The gaol is have wrods that when clicked on, will popup a window for the user...
The code snippet is:

However, if you're interested in the external javascript, try making the word "function" all lower case in your Javascript....like:

with the following in the body:
<a onClick="javascript:MkMaple();")><u>read more</u></a>
 
or
