Dreamweaver adding whitespace to images exported from Fireworks

I designed a page in Fireworks, sliced it up and exported it to Dreamweaver. Dreamweaver has added a white border of about 1 px at the top and right hand side of the table.  Since I have coloured the background it is a problem. Is there a way to resolve this?  Other than re-doing the page in CSS ...
