Hi d3cr3pitor,

Do you want your users to view the video on the site or just download it?

If download, just create a link to the avi file and let the user deal with it.

If viewing on the site, I suggest downloading WinFF and using it to convert the AVI to FLV.  Once you have it as FLV, just drag and drop the FLV file into a page in Design View and DW will walk you through a Wizard that will embed the video.

I successfully convert the .avi to .flv   but when i go to Insert -> Media -> Flv   and  add the converted movie , i choose it , but when i get Right click on   index.html  and open it  it appears that is not a movie..

ah , as i can see , when i right click and open with Mozilla , after he told me to download adobe flash player , it worked to see the movie , but with Internet explorer i can't see the movie from my PC , maybe i need to upload the website somewhere to be able to see with IE too ..

When you embed a FLV in Dreamweaver, it should also create a new folder in your site called Scripts and puts a javascript file in there.  You need to also upload that folder and file to the remote server for IE to work properly.

I would need to see a link to your site to troubleshoot it.

Okay , here are 2 screenshots in .BMP format , first one is good from my PC , one is bad uploaded at hosting .. check there please .

here is the 2nd  screenshot ( the bad one )

Screenshots not attached and they won't help anyway.  If you want me to attempt to troubleshoot cross-browser problems, I need to see the pages on the server and that means a link.

by: d3cr3pitorPosted on 2009-06-12 at 13:30:22ID: 24615840

Ok , let's see i started with that page.
I don't know anyway why the screenshots are not uploaded.

http://www.paparazzi-today.com/www.foxnews/www.foxnews.com/www.foxnews.com/index.htm

check here pls

and on my PC work perfectly i can say with Mozilla , in IE i just can't see the movie , but i hope will be fixed when i will upload it in IE too.

by: jason1178Posted on 2009-06-12 at 13:48:03ID: 24616013

So I can't help but noticing that you are attempting to replicate foxnews.com.  I would point you towards this link:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,95454,00.html

which explicitly prohibits what you are doing.  As far as why things are breaking, it's because the path you have that page under bears no resemblance to the paths the include calls are expecting.

I'm sorry, but I cannot really assist you any further with this.  If you want to attempt to publish your own work, repost a link and we'll take it from there.

You said the reason that the website is not working is because of  index.htm  correct ?  It don't have set the ways for pictures and other files right?

by: jason1178Posted on 2009-06-15 at 15:51:19ID: 24633713

I'm saying that by saving a file not your own into a path that is different from what it expects, you will more likely than not break everything in the document and that's what appears to be happening.
