The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Best practice for positioning frame/box and its content in dreamweaver

Asked by NeverEndingFlashStories in Adobe Dreamweaver, Hypertext Markup Language (HTML)

Hi,

So i have just spent 4 hours trying to understand how what i see in dreamweaver is not what i get on internet explorer, and how no matter what i do, some positioning just does not make sense to me. So what i have on screen is some 4 frames, in which i create several css AP Div boxes. The boxes then in turn contains paragraphs.

I am now working on percentages for the box positioning, however, this means at a low monitor resolution, some of the paragraphs contained within the boxes might overlap that of another box.

1. I am looking for best practices...: is it relative positioning/fixed/absolute/percentage, what should i be doing so that i wont produce a messy webpage in the end?
2. Is there anyway to specify so that when the boxes are on top of each other, they kind of shuffle out of the way so that the text wont be covered by a box with higher Z priority?
3. Is there anyway to specify so that the text/paragraph within the boxes re-sizes (to a degree) according to the box container size?
4. If frames isnt the way to go, what is my other option to create something that allows only a section of the webpage to load when i click on a link?

Thanks much,
