dreamweaver cs4 spry tabbed panel syntax error

When merely clicking the "Spry Tabbed Panel" insert button, to insert a tabbed panel into a web page, I immediately see an error in Dreamweaver CS4:
"There is a syntax error on line 108.  Code hinting may not work until you fix this error."

Line 108 shows the following code (created by dreamweaver, not me):
var TabbedPanels1 = new Spry.Widget.TabbedPanels("TabbedPanels1");

Below is the entire code snippet which 108 is a part of.

Does anyone know what the actual syntax error is, and how it can be corrected?

try removing the word "new"

It might be a syntax error higher up on the page (unclosed script tag or similar).  When you add the Spry behavior, DW finally complains.

Test by adding a tabbed panel to a new, blank page.  If it goes in without a problem that proves the hypothesis.

gazdzid - thanks for your suggestion.  I gave it a try, and unfortunately, same error exists.

jason1178 - I think you are probably correct.  I am working through an exercise from a book, and am using the exercise files provided.
