Dreamweaver CS4 "Parameter is Incorrect" error when synchronizing files on server

When I try to use the FTP function to synchronize local files with those on the server using Dreamweaver I get an error message "Parameter is incorrect" and the program locks up. I then have to force quit the application. How do I overcome this?

Does this happen on one site only or all sites?

Are you getting or putting newer files?

Hi Jason1178:
This only happens on one site. This is the first time I have started to work on this (pre-existing) site and I got this error when attempting to download the entire site to my computer. Eventually I used a third-party FTP program to download the site locally, and then I have been using DreamWeaver to update individual files and re-upload them singly. But when I attempt to synchronize a particular directory that contains the site's graphics, it gives this error message again.

Try to rebuild the site cache: Site | Advanced | Recreate Site Cache

If that doesn't help, try deleting and recreating the site definition.

Can you synch anything on this site or do all files/folders give you the same problem?

I can synch some directories but not others. There are two directories which will not synchronize, and always produce the error: catalog/details/ and catalog/thumbs/ and each directory is filled with JPEG and GIF files. The synchronization shows progress, and says it is retrieving information from the remote host, and then gives the "parameter is incorrect" error message.

Can you look at those folders from a different FTP client or via SSH?  If DW craps out in the middle of file operations it can usually be attributed to a corrupt file.
