How do I correct horizontal spry menu view in ie8?

I am able to view my menu items fine in ie7 and ff. However, i just downloaded ie8 and I am able to view the first two menu items fine. but, the following are missing the background and only displaying the text.

Have you tried it on another computer with IE8 to see if you have the same problem?  Maybe something with screen resolution, a plug-in, something in tools / internet options selected, or compatibility view settings.

Have you modified the SpryMenuBar.js or SpryMenuBarHorizonal.css files at all?

Can you post your html code for the Spry Menu?

Do you have a link I could view a sample of the problem?

if you have layout working fine i IE7 just add the following meta tag to the header
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=7" /> to switch the compatible mode to IE7
