Hi Guys
i download some important files from my web site, how do i lock the files so i don't accidentaly edit it
please advice

Answers
Check-In/Check Out is mainly used for multi-user environments. What it does is place a read-only flag on files in Dreamweaver. You can still open and edit a file without checking it out, but you cannot save over a checked-in copy.
In a multi-user environment, you open a file for editing by Checking Out the server copy. This notifies and prevents other users from editing the same file that someone else is working with.

Dreamweaver will lock the files as you edit them. But if you want to make sure that they remain pristine, then work only with a back up. You could also set the read only attribute on the files as well.
