problem with 'change event' for editable combo box in adobe flash CS3

We have a flash page which includes an editable combo box. The problem with the combo box is related to the change event function. The event is not triggering for the first item in the combobox, but works for other items in the combo box. I think the this problem occurs for combox with editable option. Is there any other solution to this problem ? There is no click event for the combox.
