Problem installing Adobe Premiere Pro CS4

I'm running XP Pro and am trying to install a trial of Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. Whereever I try to install the files I get the following error message: "A problem occurred while extracting some files. Check available disk space and the write privileges on the destination folder" There is plenty of free disk space but I'm not sure what is meant by "write priviliges".Can anyone help?
Thanks
Matthew

Hi medcomputers,

Do you have Admin privs on that machine?  What security software is running?

ASKER

Hi jason1178:
Thanks for swift reply. Yes I do have Admin privileges. I'm running AVG 8.5 Free and have Windows Firewall. Just running complete AVG scan now.
Matthew
Actually, I was thinking of having you turn AVG off during the install :)
jason1178:
I thought you were going to suggest that! As soon as the scan is finished I will try your suggestion and get back to you.
Thanks
Matthew

Thanks jason1178:
OK I'll try all those suggestions. What exactly is "borked"? New expression to me!

Be careful there.  Some NSFW language on that site :)

I like it! LOL! Back ASAP.

Hi jason1178:
Thanks, you are a genius! I downloaded a fresh copy of Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, turned off AVG, installed first time, no problems. I must remember that in the futire if I have problems installing downloaded software.
Anyone reading this post in the future should also try

as you suggested. Very funny, and stimulating. I'll also have to try not to bork up too many things in my life in the future, it's very easy to do you know!
Thanks again, off to look at Premiere Pro now.

Another Experts Exchange success. Great stuff!

Thanks, Matthew.
