ODBC.
My oringinal thought was permissions as some other issues were cleared up by that. I just can't seem to figure out what needs permission. Can't get a db backup either, so that is very limiting.

I have an application that I've built for a client. He has deployed this app (which uses a SQL Server database) to literally hundres of clients. Some have minor installl issues that are always worked out.
The app uses Crystal Reports.
For one of the recent installs, this error is displayed whenever we try to print a report
Unknown Database Connection Error
(it then shows a path to Docuement and Settings and a temp.rpt file)
Now, this app works everywhere and I mean everywhere else. It's this one install that doesn't work. That leads me to believe a database setting (the dba is very hard to work with).
Has anyone ever seen this error before? Google wasn't much help, didn't really lead me down a path that would explain anything.
Thanks in advance

When I worked for "NBJ Complicated E", one fine spring day we lost power to all of the buildings on campus. Some V.P. came through our cubicle wasteland announcing, "All non-essential personnel can go home."
Talk about a conundrum...

What kind of connection do you use? DSN? ODBC?
Is it a permissions problem?
