The Solution Rating System

Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Which CMS is easy to learn and use but still allows one to do special PHP coding in it?

I have a site which I want to modernize (www.hollfelder-it.com).

Originally it was all manual HTML then I modernized it and made it all PHP. I have some logic on product page where I allow the user to download a trial version of software after the user has identified himself with a reply e-mail. So this is some stuff I need to be able to do also with the new CMS tool. Maybe in a different manner dependent on the tool (e.g. make him open an account etc.).

Another important requirement is that there are some nice and professional templates because I am not quite an artist and for the quite small project I cannot give to job to some company.

Also I want to be able to easily maintain the page in English and in German. It happens quite often that English readers land on some German side and click to change the language. Then I need them to end up on the exact same page translated.

I played around with Typo3 which seems to be very complex and too much for my needs.

I played around with Joomla which I liked more but I am not sure whether I can do all the fancy PHP stuff with it.

I need the CMS tool to run on a mySQL/PHP/Apache environment. This needs to work on the linux sever of my provider and also on the Windows local installation that I use.

I am even willing to spend some money for a professional tool it doesn't has to be only a OpenSource tool but of course if the OpenSource tool is the best choice I am happy to get it for free.Start Free Trial
