GridView ButtonField - Changing Text RowDataBound

Hi,

I am trying to change a ButtonFields text at the RowDataBound event. But VS2008 is giving the following error:

 System.Web.UI.Control' does not contain a definition for 'Text' and no extension method 'Text' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Web.UI.Control' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)

My directives are listed below plus the line of code that is failing.

The row bound has converted the ButtonField in to a table cell with a link button.

(LinkButton)(e.Row.Cells[5].Controls[0]).Text = "Selected";

Hi,

I found the solution using the RowCommand event and not the RowDataBound event, plus I changed the code as follows with a little help from http://www.velocityreviews.com/forums/t236720-gridview-and-buttonfield-type.html

{
  if (e.CommandName.Equals("AddItem"))
  {
    int index = Convert.ToInt32(e.CommandArgument);
 
    Button myButton = null;
    myButton = (Button)GridViewBrowseResults.Rows[index].Cells[5].Controls[0];
    myButton.Text = "Selected";
  }
