The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Need Help creating a custom filter in google analytics

Asked by mediatimebomb in Web Site Statistics Software / WebTrends, Search Engines

HI there I need some help setting up some custom filters in google analytics

Here is background site info

We run a social network site with the domain name http://colonies.com this represents our main community

we also have niche communities such as snowboard, skateboard, wakeboard etc

these sections have domain names with the following structure

http://snowboard.colonies.com
http://skateboard.colonies.com
http://wakeboard.colonies.com

Currently we have the google tracking code installed on all pages and we have one profile set up to monitor ALL traffic across the entire domain. This is required so we can track TOTAL traffic across all subdomains collectively.

We would now like to create additional profiles that track data only from each of the subdomains individually.

Googles instructions are to create a new profile for each subdomain and attach a unique tracking code to all the pages of that subdomain. This method works but then we don't have to ability to track TOTAL traffic across all domains.

What I would like to do is create a profile using the existing domain tracking code & data but create a custom filter that limits the reporting data only to a specific sub domain. Under the filter settings there is an option to limit the data to a subdirectory only but this is not what I am looking for. Obviously I will need to create a custom filter (that filters data by SUBDOMAIN) but have no clue on how to set this filter up properly. I have tired various setting but none seem to work.

Can somebody please assist me with this problem
