mohitlal,

Asp interview, it sound so nice, i also still find it. Just for asp only? or for Web Programmer? If for asp it will ask you are using which kind Server Database, so in the first you need to know the company database is using what kind. Please tell me the company's homepage, i will help you find out the bug, and you just need to tell the IT manager, and tell him how to hack the server if you are a hacker, or how to protect the Server site. I just have my new interview in last week. Em.... I also show the bug for the company.

Programmers are searched, nowadays. - I don't know if you're in a very little town, but in a mid town, the chances are fine to *chose* between different jobs and companies, even if you're programming for one year, only.

Next, revise your thoughts of what they'll expect from you. Here's some common expectations:
* NOT static knowledge.
* Willingness to learn.
* Ability to learn fast.
* Knowledge/ideas where to get information, if needed.
* Like working in a team.
* Interested in everything.
* Like the company.
* Like programming.
* Self-motivated.
* Reliable in stress situations (i.e., overwork).

Don't be passive, just answering questions. Ask questions yourself, instead.
Show them who you are. Find out if you like them.
Remember that probably, the interviewer is not a pure programmer. He won't be interested in ASP and ADO details, but in how you can be integrated into the companies wholistic structure. - Talk about things that are in the interviewer's working life.

* Show them that programming is your world, and that you're eager to learn and learn.
* Show them examples for quickly getting into new techniques.
* Tell them about your strenghts, and why those would be important for the job.
* Figure out your cv as a way just to this position ;-)
* Tell them why you like their company.
* Tell them that you like the office's decoration and atmosphere.
* Be interested in what your collegues do. Tell them why you would like to gear with them.
* Be interested in the company's evolution, and their future plans.
* Tell them what issues in the company's identity you like the best.
* Figure out why you're the right one for this job.

Revise your thinking that you're applying for a job. - You're making win-win deal for the next years.

Probably, you cannot provide programming references and work samples. They are most important; if you had some projects, you wouldn't be asked for anything else: No cv, no degrees, no abilities - get a good salary, and start tomorrow.

If you don't have references, revise your thinking again: You wouldn't start as a programmer, but as a trainee.
You cannot convince anyone of being a real-world programmer by having read two or three books.

So change your strategy from "I'm the man" to "eager to learn with you".
After 1/2 - 1 year practice (including off-work studies) you'll be a junior programmer, have some reference projects, and be able to revise the salary.

Again, it's not your knowledge but your eagerness to learn, and your ability to get into new fields. -- That's what to focus on.
