also check the connection string... if the location of the mdb file is incorrect or the file is inexistant , you'll get this error..

Does this mean your application has worked on both local and remote systems, or just on the local system?
Post the codes that are trying to hit the db.
This will most likely be an environment issue, since you are successful in your local environment, but not in another.
Try these in this order:
1.Try to connect from ODBC in MS Access, without the web
2.Try a DSN-less connection from the web
3.Check your MDAC versions (2.5 latest)
4.Setup a new DSN
5.Re-install the ODBC drivers

is this an access database? are you sure the connection(s) and recordset(s) are properly closed? this can happen if you get an error after the connection is opened. the script will then stop executing, and the connection will never get closed. if this is an access db (i haven't seen this error with sql or oracle), then look in the directory where the db is located when this error is appearing. see if there is a file with the same name as the db with the extension ldb.
