The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Update a DB witha checkbox

Asked by calahanpat in Active Server Pages (ASP)

Tags: asp, checkbox, checked

I have an ASP page that displays the records I want to show the users. Now I want to add a checkbox to EACH of the records and have the user press ONE submit button to pass the value of the checkbox and store it in the DB. I have tried about 5 different examples! But I think I am screwing up passing the variable to the "update.asp" page!

HELP!

Here is the code that I am using to display the records

Response.Write(" <TD ALIGN=RIGHT>" & RecordSet.Fields("ID") & "</td>" & Chr(13))
Response.Write(" <TD ALIGN=RIGHT>" & RecordSet.Fields("unitprice") & "</td>" & Chr(13))

***** NOT SURE if this part is RIGHT**********
Response.Write(" <TD ALIGN=CENTER><input type=checkbox name=mycheckbox value=" & RecordSet.Fields("ID") & "'</td>" & Chr(13))

And I have added a field in my access97 DB called FUND with the type set to yes/no.This is the field I want updated by the checkbox! I want the users to see all the records with a checkbox to the right. They check (or uncheck) the box...then scroll down to the submit button and press it....thereby updating the DB.

So I think all I need help on is the form that submits the value of the checkbox...then whatever should be in the update.asp (such as the insert into statement)

The winner of the points will have provided me with a WORKING example of the code for the checkbox, the submit form and the update.asp

Thanks (did I mention I needed this YESTERDAY?)
