I am currently developing some ASP applications for a corporate intranet. I have a user registration page, which would enable users to register for access to certain protected content on the Intranet. The registration page has a field for UserID, which I have decided to keep identical to the user's Windows 2000 logon ID (to keep things simple). While developing the script on my machine (windows 2000 with IIS 5 installed) I used the LOGON_USER servervariable simply in the value of this field. However when uploading the content to the server, it seems that field remains empty when attempting to register from a user PC. Why? I suspect it would be necessary to locally determine the client side variable instead of doing it on the server. How is it possible to solve this?
Thanks in advance for your insights!
Regards,
Ryan
