Running a VBscript when unloading a page

Hi friends,

I'm working on an ASP page of a website and I would like to call a VBScript when the page is unloaded.
I wrote this code:

function call_my_script() {
window.open("my_script.asp") ;
}
</script>
.................................................
<body onUnload="call_my_script()">

This worked fine when I tested it on my PC ( running Windows2000 Pro - SP3 + IIS ), but when I uploaded the pages to the web server (Domaindlx - a free hosting service) the VBScript was not called at all. It seems that the onUnload event doesn't fire..........I can't realize why..??

Please, help me finding another solution or a workaround: I might also write the script on the same page, but I need to call it when the user close (or leave) the page.
Another ( less good) possibility is to call the script repeatedly with a timing loop. I know how to write a javascript timing loop, but I can't figure out how to call a VBScript routine from a js one.....of course in this case both the scripts should be on the same page.

Notice that the web server where I'll publish these pages (Domaindlx) offers asp facilities, but for security reasons doesn't allow the use of global.asa and FS Object.
