  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Insert Random ID number to the database

Hi,

I have a registration form that is writing to the database.  It is working fine,  no problems.

It adds the following to the table:
First Name
Last Name
Password
Address
Phone
.... etc

The table in the Access database has an additional field called UserID which is an Autonumber with Increment value.

The value in incrementing +1 which I don't want.
I also don't want the value set  as Random in Access because it give negative values.


I'll change the userid field into number in  Access.

Now,  how to insert a random ID number from the form to the database and make the number 4 digits?
