How can I send a CDO.Message in its original form (with attachments) to a Pickup Directory?

Asked by kushinda in Active Server Pages (ASP)

I am a newbie to CDO.  I have been using Access (using CDOSYS & CDONTS) to send out SMTP messages but it seems that all of the information regarding SMTP/CDO is in this ASP topic area, so I thought I would see if anybody could help me out.  I am at wit's end.

I have been looking for an answer or any information on how to send an e-mail constructed using the CDOSYS and sent out to the Pickup Directory (using cdoSendUsingPickup = 1) gets to the target e-mail address given in "CDO.Message.To".

I can send an e-mail (with attachments) no problem using CDO.Message.Send but when I send an e-mail using CDOSYS to the pickup directory [where I was told by our system administrators it would be checked every 15 seconds and re-sent].  But when I did send my e-mail to the pickup directory, it was not the e-mail I sent, but rather it arrived in (the pickup directory folder)  as a series of alphanumeric characters with an ".eml" extension.  It was not the e-mail I sent to the directory nor did it ever arrive at the target ".To" address after leaving the pickup folder.  Why?

I just wan't to send my e-mail out via CDO.Message.Send.  Then if the e-mail goes past the  /smtpconnectiontimeout limit or there is a connection error it is sent to the pickup directory, where I thought it would be forwarded to the address given.  This does not seem to be the case. How can I send my CDO.Message (w/attachments) to the Pickup directory?  What am I missing.  I am truly lost on this and again I am a newbie so I will shower you with points if you can help me to understand.  I spent all day yesterday and last night getting more and more confused trying to understand.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Help!! Thanks in advance.
