I am totally new to ASP. Hence this question :
I am doing a request("key") on my ASP page. And request("key") does no exist. This is causing exception. Is there any way for me to avoid this exception? Or deal with it?

It is usually better to specify the type of request i.e.: Request.From(""), Request.ServerVariables(""
This will prevent people adding values to a querystring that will be executed in the code when you expect it to Request.Form()
Secondly, if you check:
if(Request.Form("Field1") = "" or Request.Form("Field1") = null)
that will check all cases.
