The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

SQL Delivery Matrix

Asked by TheJay04 in Active Server Pages (ASP), MS SQL Server

Hi Experts,

I have two tables, which are setup as follows:

table1
id, matrix_1, matrix_2, matrix_3, matrix_4, matrix_5, matrix_6, matrix_7

table2
id, matrixid, matrix_1_cost, matrix_2_cost, matrix_3_cost, matrix_4_cost, matrix_5_cost, matrix_6_cost, matrix_7_cost,

now in table1 i will have a different value in each matrix_x
for example:
matrix_1 = 1
matrix_2 = 5
matrix_3 = 10
matrix_4 = 15
matrix_5 = 20
matrix_6 = 25
matrix_7 = 30

(please note these values can and prolly will change)

now in table2 i have the value assigned to the matrix_x
for example:

matrix_1_cost = 60
matrix_2_cost = 30
matrix_3_cost = 20
matrix_4_cost = 15
matrix_5_cost = 13
matrix_6_cost = 9
matrix_7_cost = 6

ok, hope you are still with me, now the way i want it to work is i want to pass a sql statement a value lets say "17" for arguements sake.

i want the code to find out where in the table1 it belongs, in this case it belongs to matrix_4
(as 17 is more than 15 but less than 20)

then when it knows the matrx_x i want it to then select the value from table2 assigned to that matrix_x_cost

i hope you understand and have a solution for me.Start Free Trial
