The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Displaying Multiple Projects in an ASP website

Asked by Goofdru in Active Server Pages (ASP), Web Authoring

I am designing a website for an electrical contractor. They have numerous completed jobs that they want displayed in a portfolio page(s). We have a database with every aspect of information that we wish to display in it. I have set up a recordest with each field in it in Dreamweaver. I have been testing with IE 7 and Firefox 3.0.3

We would either like to search within 5 types of jobs (distribution, commercial, Industrial, recreation, and food & beverage) to query results which can then be selected and displayed below the query like in our old site:
www.amteck.com/gallery/index.asp

OR

Have 5 seperate pages that hold each type of job. For example a category is Distribution. If you went to the Distribution page, automatically it would display a thumbnail of each job that is labeled distribution in the database under job category AND if you clicked it, then it would display below with a larger pic and fields of information. (more desirable)

A similar but not exact example can be found at:
http://www.workstage.com/projects.asp?primary=4&secondary=1&project_id=22

So basically what do I need to know to get started? Or where can I find examples? I have no experience with ASP or server side scripting. Most online tutorials are too general. ThanksStart Free Trial
