The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Recordset paging, databases and ASP

Asked by sagerpl in Active Server Pages (ASP), Microsoft Access Database

I am trying to create an image gallery with ASP and Dreamweaver. I have a test database with 138 images. Using the Horizontal looper from Tom Muck I have the images displaying horizontally with 5 rows and 6 columns, this gives me 30 images pr page. I have an SQL query that give med the image filename and keywords from the databsase. I also added recordset paging using DW built in solution, so that you can navigate forward and see the next 30 images, and the next, and the next. So far so good. BUT, I need to be able to search the database for images based on certain keywords, so when adding the search function I also changed the query to get images based on the input in the searchbox. In my db I have 66 images with the keyword "Vestlandet" when searching for this keyword I get the first set of 30 images, I also see that 66 images was found.

The problem starts when I click to see the next 30 images with the same keyword, these next 30 images that are displayed are from the total of images in the db, regardless of keyword and the recordset paging now shows images 31 og 60 of 138 which is the total number of images in the database.

Any ideas on how to be able to navigate through only those images with the right keyword?
