Problems with a numeral 1 in form search query

Classic ASP VBScript

Hello.  I have a site that performs many different types of queries from a SQL 2005 db.

Everything has been working well for the past couple of years, until today when my client noticed on sale was appearing on ALL searches.

I was bewildered, as this particular search was searching on a "State" value, and the state was entered on the site user's sale entry.

The site user's title for the sale included a number, such as "SEPT 17-19".

After several trial-and-errors, I discovered that if I remove the "1", it no longer appears on ALL searches, but rather just the ones to which it applies.

I can enter any other number, apparently, but as soon as I enter a "1", it reverts to this behavior.

I'm a little new to using SQL with Classic ASP (I know .NET is better, but I'm not there, yet).

Is there something I'm missing in the rule of queries regarding a "1"?

There is nothing special about a "1" in sql.
But without seeing the code any other help is difficult.

In other words, please copy the text of the SQL query into the Code Snippet portion of a respnse so that we can review the code to try to assist.

If it is a parameterized query, then please provide the exact parameters that were used for the query that produced the undesired results.

If you are calling a stored procedure (which it does not appear that you are), please provide the textof teh SP.

Hello, all.  Sorry for the delay.  I decided to go another route, but your information was helpful in that it confirmed there is nothing odd about a "1" in SQL.
