Question

Paging Function

Asked by: kevp75

I ended up changing my paging method lately, but I just found where I will run into an issue...

the issue is, if there are a ton of pages.

the following code displays like this:

< << 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 >> >

however, if I have a hundred pages you can see where this would get out of hand (for display purposes at least...)

So what I am wondering is how can I change the following code so it renders the paging like this:

< << 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 ... >> >

(and as I get further along in the paging)

< << 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 ... >> >

(please assume the code works...  since it does, it just does not do what I explain above...)

Public Function RecordPaging()

not bad carrz :)  u?

Nice example, That's pretty much exactly what I am going, the exception is using .GetRows instead of the recordset (although, I am passing the absolutepage, etc...  prior to getting my array of records)

I tested with 1.5M records without using the absolutepage, and the page errored out (lack of memory for the operation), once I added in the absolutepage stuff, it worked a champ.

I'll check out your logic with the paging numbers and get back to you

Not really sure what it is that you are trying to do here.
Are you saying that you are trying to put both codes together as one to get the
Results that you are wanting?

I really do not know what to tell you, if you are going to try to put them together I wish you the best
And will love to see the outcome of it.

Good Luck

Kev.
How did your's turn out? Is it more like Google or like my example?
If it is more like Google's, I would really like to see it.
As that is what I am wanting to add to my site(s).

Have a good one.

umm...  actually...  it's more like yours, I just styled it a bit.  wrapped all the links in a span tag, and gave a class to the last page, first page, and current page

If I had a page not under login, i'd show you...  acually...   screenshot :)
