With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? ASP Updating a Multi row data form

Help please.
I have a timesheet form with multiple filtered rows where times are entered.
The problem is that i am trying to get it to update the database with hours and then refresh to show the updated numbers that can the have a total per day. The total need not be transfered to the database.
The form does not show any errors but does not update the database or refresh.
All ideas are welcome.
I am using dreamweaver to create the page with VB Sript and the database is MS Access.
