I have a form done in classic asp. I have two fields for email. The first to enter the email address and the second to validate the entry against the first email field. can someone help with the code for this validation or point me to a link.

The reason behind the dual email address fields "sybe"
Is to allow the person to make sure that they insert the appropriate email address and they do not mess up.
I have it on my site, and it has helped out a lot of people since adding it, there are no more emails to me with
the words: I have not received verification.
And as for the remainer of your message.
We are here to help people, not to judge them on what they want to do.
And in this case, he is doing what I do, so, I do not judge.

"carzzkiss", I do judge what people try to do. I do not see what the problem with that is. I try to give advice to solve things in a good manner and that includes the user experience (which is often ignored by programmers). People are of course free to ignore my advice.
As for how useful such a double-check is: you don't know how many people stop filling out your form because they are annoyed by the bureaucracy.
By the way: email-addresses are case-insensitive, which isn't accounted for in your proposed solution.
Then provide a better solution for the asker.
And as for people annoyed by the double check.
Never had a problem, as a matter of fact, the people that are on my site
Love the fact that they can now make sure that the given information is correct, as we all know.
You get in a rush, and you mess up.
But, you do it your way, I do it the way I know, and this works pretty well.

If it saves just 1 user from not receiving my precious information then it is all worth it.
All kidding aside I see this quite often and am not sure if it helps or is annoying but. So until
a study is done that says dont do it I will use it.
I do appreciate the feedback sybe but carrzkiss gets the points. I have another question I am about
queue up so feel free to offer an alternative here as well.
