ASP change background color to yellow if checked = true

The below code will check the box if the label text is clicked. I want to change the background color of the layer if the check box is checked.

1 . write a css class for both yellow and other color

<div id="divid" class="normalclass"></div>

change the classname of the div to the yellow css class through javascript

document.getElementById('divid').className="yellowclass"

2. add an id to the div and call the javascript on when the check box is checked

document.getElementById('divid').style.bgcolor="yellow";
