Question

how to highlight form on focus through css for IE5+?

The code below works perfectly with Firefox. However it aint working with IE. Is there any alternative CSS coding please or maybe another scripting language which is not JS?

CSS Code:

input:focus, textarea:focus {
      border:1px solid #019201;
      background-color: #DAFEDA;
}

Looks like IE got on board with the :focus pseudo class for textarea in version 8. It's not CSS, but the JS below works in both FF and IE:

Hah... just saw the "...not JS" part of your question... sorry.

Hehe, ok no worries :)... well maybe you can still contribute to part of my problem. If JS is not enabled, is it possible to detect / switch to CSS or will they conflict one another?

There doesn't appear to be any conflicts. The following should work exactly the same in FF with and without JS enabled, and works in IE with JS enabled:
