The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

div expanding, don't want it to - Dreamweaver design view is not accurate

Asked by SweetIowa in Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Adobe Dreamweaver

Tags: dreamweaver cs3 css

I am very very confused - using Dreamweaver cs3
I created a template from a template.  The template had a left and right floated sidebars and the main content filled the center.  In the main content I had two divs - a left and right portion.

For my template derived from the original template, I took out the main content  AND the right sidebar and replaced with a new div.

I am trying to put affiliate content in this div (code that populates the space with merchandise).  I have tried fixed tables, tried to set a fixed width on the div, the content just expands out of it when viewed.  I finally uploaded it to the web and it was a different story.  I found applying table width 90% shrunk it all to fit in Firefox, but the content is still being pushed down under in ie7.

I am not a seasoned css user, so I must be offending the css gods somehow and have committed some sin of putting some element next to another element.

By the way - now that I can see it in the browser, my dreamweaver design window is all shook up. I know that DW can be off - but I can't work in a garbled up workspace.

My page is at www.dream-kitchen-pantry.com/BUY/example.html

www.dream-kitchen-pantry.com/CSS/global.css (I have put ALL css in one document - so the css I am not using from template #1 is still in there - that will add to the confusion).
