Question

Page view in compatibility mode

Hi folks. I am at my wits end. The site www.pinkanddizzy.com has been working fine.. and then the swines at Microsoft bring out IE7 and IE8 and the site goes to hell, unless you select compatibility mode.

Basically the issue is with the menu down the left hand side. PIn IE7 or 8 without compatibility mode its just a huge list... switch compatibility mode on, and it appears as it should.

My request is

1) Can someone tell me the meta tag or whatever to force a page to go into compatiobility mode

or

2) HELP ME FIX THE DAMN MENU

Hi mvmail,

The menu fails in Firefox too.

What I can't you is why.  Obviously, some javascript effect is not loading properly and the page defaults back into list view.  Did you follow instructions from another site to develop the menu or is this completely home-brewed?

It's working in IE6 and IE7 but not in IE8 or Firefox or other non-IE browsers because IE6 and IE7 automatically corrected the incorrectly nested lists.

Each sub <ul> element must be inside an <li> element.

The markup validator (http://validator.w3.org/) is great for spotting these kinds of issues.
