Nah, that didn't do it.

I'm going to start to strip down all the junk in the print.css see if I can get a cleaner version to play with.

There seems to be a lot of junk in the css. I got it from a designer when I developed the site. I'd like to really clean things up, but don't want to get into testing for all browsers and versions. And anyway when I start getting into what should be easy css I start swearing at IE. (I use Firefox myself)

Take a look and see if there's something else. I did turn off css and I do see both headers, so I know the image link is correct.

sorry, quite right - i didn't actually print preview (i just used firebug to view the source code), I just assumed that the print stylesheet would turn #print_header back on by using:

display:block;

therefore displaying the header that is hidden normally.

so you either need to

1) turn the display of #print_header back on by using display:block;

or

2) in the print styling set #header to display:none and #q2 to top: 0 (or some other value that works for you)

1) will display the print specific header.
2) will remove any headers when printing - though then you may as well delete the html for the print header?

In fact deleting the html for the print header is probably the cleaner long term solution as you can use css to totally customise the existing header to display how you want (for example setting all elements inside #header to display:none and then giving #header itself the background image as the one in #print _header

display: block; did the trick.

I'll study why and maybe learn a little more about print css.
