Question

Javascript with CSS iimages and I can't get the pictures to appear

Hi, I have a drupal site www.samplepage.ca and there are supposed to be rolling images in the header.  I have had this working in the past but when I transferred all my files from to a new server it stopped working.

I'm pretty sure all the files and code are in my themes folder and I know its a combination of css and javascript.  I think I just have the paths wrong.  Can anyone help??

This is the code from my page.tpl.php page.

<div style="background-image: url('header/header1.png') no-repeat;" id="photodiv">
    	<img style="opacity: 0.99999;" id="photoimg" src="header/header1.png"></div>
          </div>

This is the code from my css page.

div#header{
	/*background: url(images/banner-final.png) 0 0 no-repeat;*/
	/*background:url(images/header/header1.png) 0 0 no-repeat;*/
	height:157px;
	overflow:hidden
}
div#header-0 {
	/*background: url(images/banner-final.png) 0 0 no-repeat;*/
	background:url(images/header/header1.png) 0 0 no-repeat;
	height:157px;
}
div#header-1 {
	background:url(images/header/header2.png) 0 0 no-repeat;
	height:157px;
}
div#header-2 {
	background:url(images/header/header3.png) 0 0 no-repeat;
	height:157px;
}
div#header-3 {
	background:url(images/header/header4.png) 0 0 no-repeat;
	height:157px;
}
div#header-4 {
	background:url(images/header/header5.png) 0 0 no-repeat;
	height:157px;
}

I see you're using a script called "CSS Photo Shuffler", loaded at the bottom of the page. Problem seems to be the fact that the image array defined from which the script is supposed to load images has the paths set wrong. They all have double slash at the beginning. Remove one of them from each image path and it should work ok.

for some reason it is appending two slashes ("//") instead of one slash ("/") as the starting URL.  I can help you if you are online in the next 30 mins.  Come to the site(pls see my profile page) and open a chat.

Another suggestion, you should never declare images in tpl files.  It should go to your CSS file.

Priceline, I missed you.  Any suggestions.  The original guy who built this didn't know much about drupal.  Is there a better way to do this.  Maybe a better module??

As you said it was working in the past, there could be one more reasons reasons.  Some i can think of is:

1) Did you change the location of the site? or is it just plain transfer?
2) Did you clear the cache and run update.php?
3) last thing is: try giving 777 permissions to "files" folder; it could be permissions issue.
4) for some reason, it is having "//" instead of just "/"

You site is offline, i cannot check now.  Good Luck.

by: livewirewebsolutionsPosted on 2009-11-06 at 12:36:39ID: 31646946

I finally found where the // was.  It was in page.tpl.php located in the themes folder.

Thanks all.
