Any free software out there that you would recommend downloading in order to test my site on as many as possible?
Should I also then be changing my font sizes and resolution when I test using a download?

Now there might be, but why when we have the same browser (although happens in FF) does it look different on the two machines?

there's 1 very handy website i use for testing what the website looks like in different browsers.

It's really easy and works really well. Hope that helps.
Also screenshots, code and live links work for us on here. There are too many variables to have a solid solution to your problem.
As klodvik said http://www.browsershots.or
Hi There. You probably have a beta version of IE8 on one machine and the full version on another.
I experience exactly the same problem.
I downloaded a great product called the internet explorer collection here
http://finalbuilds.edskes.
Now I know it only covers IE but in my experience that is where you will find most of your problems.

could be a number of reasons. different font size, compatability mode of IE 8 was on and you didn't notice. different screen resolution, etc.
