Need to Parse commas in an array

I'm having trouble with this survey that I need to create for my company. It has dynamic questions and drop down answers. Certain questions have text areas and text boxes associated with them. Wnen the users insert values in either of the text box or text areas I put them in an array to match them with the question number.

However, whenever a user puts a comma into its values Coldfusion treats the text after that as a seperate value. Then I receive an error

Is there a way I can either parse the commas before the text values are put into an array? Or change the delimiter used in the array with out changing the commas.
