How to pass parameters to a SQL 2005 SP using cfquery?

How to pass parameters to a SQL 2005 SP using cfquery?
This is just a guess.
<cfquery datasource="#dta#" name = "spinsert">
Exec newSP ('param1','param2')
</cfquery>

Also do you have to  use the single quotes for varchar etc when passing params.

Have you considered using cfstoredproc  instead of cfquery?

Yes, it will work.
But remove the ( )

<cfquery datasource="#dta#" name = "spinsert">
Exec newSP 'param1','param2'
</cfquery>

Yes, you need the single quotes for varchar
